‘I cannot thank you enough for the most amazing cake ever, tasted just as we expected, our guests complimented it and there was more than enough to go around,’
‘A staff member at the Hotel approached us to say that she had never seen a cake like it and she was impressed.’
‘You make lovely cakes, you followed our instructions perfectly making me as the bride a very happy woman.’
Time to celebrate with family and friends, Time to relax knowing that the exams are behind you. Time to take pride in your achievements. What better way to say ‘congratulations!’ than with a special cake or two? These bespoke cupcakes and toppers are a particularly special way to express pride in friends and family and to celebrate their success. We would like to say ‘well done’ to all those who have graduated this summer, too and good luck with the next chapter of your life.
We’re often asked for themed cupcakes and this time we were asked to come up with some ideas for a few best loved places that have been visited for a special birthday. Spain and France are featured but we wonder how many more places you can name?
It was a lot of fun modelling all these ‘animals’ for Ayla’s birthday cake. Particularly love Chloe the Fresian. But then, Felix the Frog is also a favourite. As is Pasha the Porker. Or then there’s…
Our logo cupcakes and cookies often appear at corporate events and exhibitions. They make great giveaways – and much more memorable than, say – a pen! Besides you can’t eat a pen…
We had great fun designing these Alice in Wonderland themed cupcakes for a recent Baby Shower. The collection includes the Cheshire Cat, the Madhatter, Queen of Hearts and Alice herself. The recipients thought they were ‘Amazing’ – and so do we!
A recent trip to Gaydon, Warwickshire saw us delivering some celebration cupcakes to the PR team at Aston Martin Lagonda courtesy of Sassy Films. This was in recognition of their achievements at the Geneva Motor Show 2019 where they wowed the crowds with their Vanquish Vision Concept. Cupcakes say so much…
This order was for Jenny’s 60th birthday who was so excited to see her finished cake. To say she was pleased is an understatement! This design features ruffle roses, flowers and butterflies.
Wedding high season is traditionally throughout the summer months and whilst it is true to say that our work moves up a gear during this time of year, our couples are choosing to tie the knot at other times in the year. Designs are very much a personal thing but we thought we would include a word or two about current trends.
While naked wedding cakes and all-white tiers never go out of fashion, you may want to incorporate one or two of these 2019 wedding cake trends to lend a modern twist. Deconstructed layers are making a come-back thanks to Harry and Meghan who chose to display their cakes individually rather than a stacked creation. Tall and multi-level cakes – if you want to update the look of your wedding cake, opt for elongated tiers. The textured buttercream look really lends itself to a rustic luxe wedding style. Copper effects – not all that glitters is gold! Copper really is the metallic of the moment, so try working some into your design. Naked cake designs are getting a bit more adventurous with the addition of drips, interesting toppers, multiple cake flavours and different colours. Geometric designs – triangles and hexagons are a bit more interesting than squares and circles. Ruffles – try pairing one tier of vertical ruffles with a simple, sleek second and third tier so that the design really stands out.
When it comes to reaching the milestone of living more than seven decades it is a moment worth celebrating. Not only is he 70 but Peter also loves his golf. It’s become somthing of a joke with his nearest and dearest – so when we were asked to mark the occasion in a fun way – this was the result.
Number cakes are the perfect way to mark milestone birthdays.
Those of you who visit this blog regularly will know that we are often asked to cater for special diets, In fact, it would be the exception if a week went by without receiving an SOS from customers who want to supply a loved one with a sweet treat. These cupcakes were for a nursery class. They are dairy and egg free and our chief taster (my hubby loves his work) confirmed their deliciousness.
Say ‘hello’ to Pippa the Pug! How sweet is this?
This special order on-trend cake features a handbag shaped vanilla sponge cake in turquoise – the colour of the moment – with a little ‘pug’ sitting inside.
Valentine’s Day is always a hectic time of year and this year was no exception. We have lots of requests to include messages on our cupcakes or to include a special message on a card. Of course, Valentine’s Day is traditionally associated with tokens of love but other dates throughout the year are also special – the first date, the first anniversary – and sweet treats such as these red velvet cupcakes are the best way we know of making the occasion memorable. What’s your special day? – make it a day to remember.
Our cookies have been taken the length and breadth of the country for special events and occasions. Our cookies go down well at corporate events – and what better way to publicise a new product? We also provide cookie favours for weddings. Our jolly little gingers were a special point of interest at a recent wedding. Dressed for the occasion – and don’t they look smart?
This floral tribute was requested as a surprise for a much-loved Gran celebrating her milestone 80th birthday with family and friends. We hope it was a memorable birthday made extra special with this sweet treat.
We’re so lucky that we get to share in so many celebrations and these classy chocolate cupcakes were just right for this bride-to-be to share with her family and friends.
Our mission was to give this design a 70s vibe with lots of flowers and lots of colour. Our customer could hardly contain her delight when she saw the finished design. We’re pleased to say we captured her requirements exactly and we hope her mum was as thrilled with it as she was.
We’re so lucky to be able to share in your celebrations – and here we have a celebration cake fit for a 3 year old. Dinosaurs are Kalam’s favourite thing, so we couldn’t disappoint, could we?
This egg-free 2-tier vanilla sponge features a baby dinosaur topper. We love to hear your feedback on our cakes and in the words of Kalam’s mum this design was simply ‘perfect’.
It has been an exceptionally busy year for us and we would like to send our thanks along with seasons greetings to all our customers.
We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas together with loving family and great friends and found some time among the festivities to put your feet up and relax a little! We know how difficult that can be!
We look forward to hearing from you in the New Year and to see what cake challenges you set for us in 2019. Don’t forget, whatever you’re celebrating – we have a cake for it!
We hope you all have a wonderful New Year.
No one needs to twist anyone’s arm to get them to eat more cake, – my husband, the self-appointed chief taster – is testament to that. But if you’re looking for a cake that’s also going to be the talking point among your nearest and dearest – enter the on-trend drip cake. They’ve captured everyone’s heart and imagination with their overflowing frosting.

December is always a very busy time for us bakers. It’s also a short month so that we always advise our customers to order their celebration cakes early as – just like in the high wedding season – December is always booked up early. This year has been exceptionally busy and, regrettably, we’ve had to disappoint a lot of people. Take a look at our contact page for the suggested length of notice we usually ask for then at least double it during peak periods.
Whatever the time of year and whatever you’re celebrating – please ensure you order in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.
We’ll take this opportunity to wish all our customers the very best of the season and we look forward to providing more fabulous designs for you in 2019.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
