What better way to say ‘congratulations!’ than with a special cake or two? These bespoke cupcakes and toppers are a particularly special way to express pride in friends and family and to celebrate their success. We would like to say ‘well done’ to all those who have graduated this summer, too and good luck with the next chapter of your life.
We’re often asked for themed cupcakes and this time we were asked to come up with some ideas for a few best loved places that have been visited for a special birthday. Spain and France are featured but we wonder how many more places you can name?
A recent trip to Gaydon, Warwickshire saw us delivering some celebration cupcakes to the PR team at Aston Martin Lagonda courtesy of Sassy Films. This was in recognition of their achievements at the Geneva Motor Show 2019 where they wowed the crowds with their Vanquish Vision Concept. Cupcakes say so much…
Those of you who visit this blog regularly will know that we are often asked to cater for special diets, In fact, it would be the exception if a week went by without receiving an SOS from customers who want to supply a loved one with a sweet treat. These cupcakes were for a nursery class. They are dairy and egg free and our chief taster (my hubby loves his work) confirmed their deliciousness.
If you read our Blog regularly you will see that we very often receive requests from abroad to send messages in cake to a relative or loved one living or working locally. We have requests from Australia and the USA on a regular basis and also from France, Spain, Ghana and Kenya.
This request was for a cupcake bouquet in colours to suit a male recipient. Red Velvet was the cake of choice with Chocolate, Caramel and Silver Blue buttercream. We hope he enjoyed them – along with the surprise inside – chocolate truffles.
Sending cakes with special messages and logos are a great marketing tool. It’s a delcious way of getting a message across and much more memorable than a simple note. Here we were working with Sassy Film Productions to send a message to one of their clients – a couple of boxes of goodies that went down a treat!

It’s WASPS season again!
WASPS do love cupcakes – and this isn’t the first time that we’ve helped them satisfy their craving for nectar. Bourbon cream and raspberry and vanilla flavours were the top choices this time around. Safely delivered to Ricoh arena.
Some people have difficulty in digesting certain foods, are sensitive to certain foods, while others follow a lactovegetarian diet. If you do have a food allergy the good news is you can still enjoy some of your favourite foods – cake included.
When ordering your cakes it is important to inform us of any allergies to foodstuffs requirements so that we can take the appropriate precautions during production.

You can’t be sad when you’re holding a cupcake – and we know that many dozens of you have been enjoying these delicious morsels recently – because we’ve been baking them for you!
Lots of varieties have been ordered over recent weeks – lemon and passion fruit, chocolate, chocolate caramel, vanilla, choc-mint, choc-vanilla, funfetti, caramel, oreo – to name but a few! Phew!!
Whatever the occasion, cupcakes fit the bill and everyone gets the same size portion every time – so no fighting who gets the biggest piece! The only arguments you’ll hear are over the flavour and everyone wants to sample each one! Just have to order more next time…
Food allergies and intolerances in the UK are on the increase. It’s important to be aware of and inform us of any special dietary requirements when placing your order with Sweet Williams Cakes. If you have a food intolerance, it doesn’t mean you can’t have your cake and eat it!. Kailie recently placed an order for cupcakes for her boyfriend – gluten and almond free – and this is what she had to tell us:

Wasps… (the sporty, hunky, rugby types, you understand – not the buzzing, flying types with a nasty sting) really got to grips with our cupcakes during a touchdown at their training ground! It was all we could do to steer clear of the scrum during our delivery! This selection of oreo, red velvet and salt caramel cupcakes were sent with love to Brendan Macken of Wasps Rugby FC who celebrated his birthday recently. We hope he got to try a few, although it was looking doubtful when his team mates attempted a conversion! Those pesky Wasps….!
Cupcakes are always in demand. What’s great about them is that they are easy to handle and there’s an exact portion for everyone – as long as you order enough, that is! Logo and corporate cupcakes are always popular and we’re often asked to colour-match buttercream and sugarpaste. Today – blue is the colour and the guys at md-Catapult obviously agree. The stand-out event at the School of Life Sciences, University of Warwick.

We were delighted to help with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning recently. Our Dessert Cakes together with a selection of cupcakes and muffins helped the staff at the RMI to raise over £330 for this worthy cause. Well done, everyone!

National Cupcake Week: 19 to 25 September.
There’s no denying the popularity of cupcakes and despite the fact that trends come and go the cupcake is still going strong. What’s not to like? They come in a convenient portion size; there are lots of flavours to choose from; they’re topped with delicious flavoured frostings and buttercream.
It’s clear from our order books that cupcakes remain as popular as ever. These little beauties are gluten-free and delicately flavoured with vanilla.
We often receive requests from oversees for celebration cakes for family members, so we were pleased to receive an order for this cupcake selection – Lemon, Raspberry Ripple and Oreo flavours. What we didn’t know at the time was that they were to travel 1200 miles to Madrid! We do hope they reached their destination safely and without the cabin crew taking the opportunity to sample a few! :-))
Holiday time has arrived and we’ve whipped, beaten, baked, iced and delivered the last of our orders before closing our doors for our summer break. Phew!

These freshly baked chocolate cupcakes in purple and white delivered a special message to staff at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Staff meetings will never be the same again.
‘It’s great to find a local business that could help at short notice’, was the comment when we received this order for a cupcake bouquet. The very thoughtful guy requested Red Velvet flavour cupcakes for his girlfriend. We know she likes flowers so we hope she enjoyed this floral tribute – and the surprise inside. What more could a girl ask? – flowers, cake and lovely surprises – oh, happy day!
It’s been another busy birthday week and sometimes, we have to admit, you lovely people out there can leave thoughts of cakery treats till the last minute. Fortunately, for one young man, we were able to include a late request from his mum for something to tickle his fussy tastebuds – nothing too fancy, you understand. We think these vanilla cupcakes fitted the bill perfectly and we thought these emoji characters added some extra fun to the celebrations.
You can’t have failed to notice that a big birthday has been celebrated this week. We may not have got the call to make a cake for HM Queen Elizabeth but we did get to make lots of cakes for other people celebrating big birthdays this week. This is one of our favourite selections because it features Oreo cupcakes and gold decoration. So, you see, these cupcakes are fit for a Queen – or, at least, a Queen for a day.
