Festive Season
We’ll all have been hearing the usual Christmas songs playing in the background while we shop. Some of us will also be singing along to them. ‘Frosty the Snowman’ has to be one of the favourites and, as if by magic, here he is…

Who doesn’t love a wedding?
This cake and cupcake display was set up in the marquee at a lovely country house near Coventry.
‘Red Velvet is her favourite cake’ we were told when Navi’s husband placed this order for her upcoming birthday. We couldn’t disappoint her…
If you read our Blog regularly you will see that we very often receive requests from abroad to send messages in cake to a relative or loved one living or working locally. We have requests from Australia and the USA on a regular basis and also from France, Spain, Ghana and Kenya.
This request was for a cupcake bouquet in colours to suit a male recipient. Red Velvet was the cake of choice with Chocolate, Caramel and Silver Blue buttercream. We hope he enjoyed them – along with the surprise inside – chocolate truffles.
A beautiful floral display of brightly coloured flowers as a fitting tribute to Madeleine – 80 years young and looking forward to a family celebration. Floral colours included pink, lemon and lavender.
Our logo cupcakes took centre stage at the annual event AMLive at the NEC recently. We’re told they went down a treat. Well, of course they did!
Got a corporate event coming up? Get in touch with us – your customers will appreciate it!
Sending cakes with special messages and logos are a great marketing tool. It’s a delcious way of getting a message across and much more memorable than a simple note. Here we were working with Sassy Film Productions to send a message to one of their clients – a couple of boxes of goodies that went down a treat!
Check out this awsome engagement cake! Our couple are obviously fans of Mickey and Minnie mouse. Elements of this mono design include hearts as well as Mickey and Minnie in silhouette and topped off with an ‘engagement’ ring.
It was a hard choice when this customer was deciding on the theme for the birthday cake for her husband’s 50th birthday. He loves golf but he also loves his Jaguar car. Tough choice! He’s only going to be 50 once – so why not have both?
Simply dead cool Deadpool cupcakes!
A little bundle is due to arrive – and it’s going to be a surprise.
This mum to be was sent off on maternity leave with a couple of dozen little bundles of cupcake. What a sweet way to wish her well.
We often get unusual requests – and this is one of them. But whilst it might be unusual to some of us I was assured that Gemma’s mechanic boyfriend would love it! He likes nothing better than tinkering with cars. So here we have a replica of a turbo – a chocolate cake turbo just for him. Well, maybe a few sharing.
Disney is always popular and ageless – children, couples – everyone has their favourite Disney moment.
Here we have Mickey and Minnie Mouse in this mono design engagement cake.
It’s WASPS season again!
WASPS do love cupcakes – and this isn’t the first time that we’ve helped them satisfy their craving for nectar. Bourbon cream and raspberry and vanilla flavours were the top choices this time around. Safely delivered to Ricoh arena.
Last time I mentioned trends and how things have the habit of coming full circle. Some time back it was suggested that the cupcake had had its day and the next best thing would see its demise. First came the cakepop, then the macaron, the cronut – a blended doughnut and croissant. Still – the cupcake prevails. And why not? They can be baked in many different flavours, topped with buttercreams, fondant, meringue, fruit, logos and more; and they are just the right portion size for one sitting.
Now, I’m not saying that cupcakes are once again under threat but I would like to share with you the news of what is now considered to be the ‘next big thing’ in the bakery world. That is none other than the ECLAIR – tah dah! Yes, the eclair has undergone a transformation and just take a look at these little beauties – you have to consider whether to eat them or frame them (particularly given the price tag). But wouldn’t they make a delicious alternative to a cupcake or cakepop favour at weddings? You decide…

We all know trends come and go. There is always the next new ‘big thing’ but one request that is always on trend is the call for Superhero cakes. Here is one such request from a young man who has had a tough year. For his birthday nothing less than the man of steel would do. it had to be Superman and it had to be chocolate.
No sooner said than done! We hope it made his day.
There’s a superhero in all of us – we just need the courage to put on the cape!
Everyone has a favourite cake – or at least a cake that they find it difficult to refuse. This is one of those cakes as far as we’re concerned. Carrot cake is one of our most requested flavours and the addition of real carrot ensures a moist crumb is guaranteed.
Carrot cake is a welcome addition to any dessert table. Check out this birthday edition complete with chopped walnuts and topped off with sugar carrots. What a special treat…go on – you know you want to,,,
Are you planning a celebration? And is it going to be in September or October? Yes on both counts? Read on my friend…

The cake of the week features a special anniversary for a couple celebrating 45 years of marriage – their sapphire wedding anniversary. We know they couldn’t quite believe it – ‘where has the time gone?’. Our brief was to mark the occasion with an Art Deco inspired design.
Art deco characteristics featuresbold designs, vibrant colours, geometric shapes and decorative motifs. So here we have the final design – a golden finish, geometric shapes at the base and peacock feathers – also a feature of Art Deco style – and at its heart a delicious chocolate layered sponge cake. We’re told that it was very quickly demolished by the grandchildren but the photos and the memories are in tact.
What a busy time it’s been! Since we last posted there have been lots of orders for cupcakes, cakespops and specialty cakes leaving our cakery.
One of those orders was for an iconic Coventry-based company. It was the Land Rover’s 70th anniversary – and Sweet Williams Cakes were there to help make the celebrations a little more special. Congratulations!
We all love a wedding and the anticipation and excitement over a certain Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has certainly reached fever pitch over the last few weeks. Here at Sweet Williams Cakes we’ve been kept busy baking and decorating many dozens of cupcakes for you to enjoy throughout the ceremony.
The story behind this birthday cake is that the birthday boy is a keen photographer. His wife had a few ideas about how she wanted to honor his milestone birthday and this was the end result. We included an edible replica of the Nikon Camera complete with strap made with fondant and included a few images around the side to add to the effect.
Your baby’s first birthday party is going to be a lot of fun for the family as well as for baby. With a little planning before the party the first birthday can be a really sweet occasion. We love hearing your ideas for themes and turning these into celebration cakes for all to enjoy. Caitlin’s birthday was no exception with this 2-tier vanilla cake adorned with balloons heading up into the clouds. The pretty pastel colours worked really well and this cake would look equally as good reproduced in hues of blue.
We love a good birthday – and where there’s a birthday, cake is generally always guaranteed.
Milestone birthdays are particularly special and we tend to push the boat out to ensure happy memories of the occasion. We’re always delighted to be involved in your celebrations and Lynda’s 60th was no exception. We were asked for an elegant design and the result with hand-modelled flowers met the brief perfectly.

Some people have difficulty in digesting certain foods, are sensitive to certain foods, while others follow a lactovegetarian diet. If you do have a food allergy the good news is you can still enjoy some of your favourite foods – cake included.
When ordering your cakes it is important to inform us of any allergies to foodstuffs requirements so that we can take the appropriate precautions during production.
This selection below are dairy- and soy-free cupcakes.
Our cookies have been a feature at many exhibiition and events. We’re often asked to supply cookies with company logos or for a particular theme.
Our School Crossing Patrol cookies are a huge draw whenever they appear at an expo – everyone wants one – and who wouldn’t want to take away one of these tasty treats?
If you were at the Motor Traders’ Conference recently you might have been lucky enough to sample one of our logo cupcakes made specially for the NFDA stand. We reproduce many logos in this way. They are certainly a talking point and a great way to market your organisation and products – and much more tasty than the usual pens that tend to be on offer.
Corporate cupcakes can be provided for product launches, marketing, events and brand updates.
Cake has a wonderful way of making an occasion into a celebration. From the arrival of baby to birthdays and weddings and all the events in-between, cake is usually the centre-piece, the one thing we look forward to and expect to see. Personalised cake makes the event even more special, just as here, marking a big birthday with cupcakes. Makes a person feel extra special, don’t you agree?
As far as we’re concerned there’s only one thing to do when it’s cold outside and the snow is falling,..more baking! And what could be more topical than snowman themed cookies? Our cookies are made in a variety of flavours and many designs.
It just so happens that this cake was requested for an 80th birthday celebration, but whatever the age, nothing says it better than flowers. We were also asked to pay homage to Anita’s home town in the form of her favourite football club.
